Washington D.C.— The Plastics Industry Association will host their first ever community service event at NPE2024: The Plastics Show. The initiative, in partnership with Alliance Specialties and Laser Sales and U.S. Hunger, will offer NPE attendees an opportunity to volunteer with industry professionals while making a difference in the fight against hunger.
“Orlando has consistently proven itself to be an outstanding host for NPE and with appreciation, the plastics industry looks forward to the opportunity to give back,” said Whitney Taveras PLASTICS’ Director of Industry Engagement (Equipment). “We are excited for this partnership and to host this event as our industry is dedicated to supporting local communities and encourage all NPE participants to attend, or donate, to U.S. Hunger. We’re happy to participate in the packaging of essential meals for the community especially as plastic material protects and preserves food better than any other material ensuring that more people can get the nutrition they need.”

The NPE2024 community service event aims to pack 20,000 meals which will all be donated to the local Orlando community. This event will be held on Wednesday, May 8, from 11am to 3pm ET in the West Building, Meeting Room, W208C and is open to all NPE attendees. Attendees unable to participate but still interested in supporting this event can click here to donate. All funds raised directly support this initiative and its impact.
Over 55,000 individuals are projected to attend NPE2024, the largest plastics trade show in the Americas from May 6-10, 2024 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. NPE will gather over 2,000 exhibitors to showcase their latest products and innovations designed to drive business forward for every part of the plastics industry, along with over 100 educational sessions and brand-new keynotes from experts in the field.
